4 signs or symptoms of measles before rash develops:

High fever

symptoms usually appear 7 to 14 days after contact with the virus. The rash appears 3 to 5 days after the first symptoms.

Two doses of MMR vaccine are about 97% effective at protecting against measles. Fully vaccinated people who develop measles usually have a milder illness and are less likely to spread the infection to other people.
